1. Completely diasgree. Religious tension has been in India since the time immortal. Before Muslims, it was Hinduism vs Buddhism/Jainism. 
Most major riots of the country happened before 2014. 

2. True to an extent. 

3. IT Cell of BJP is really good in creating random narratives. They are usually exaggerated or outright stupid. However, opposition parties are shit and they don't work this hard. Except TMC and AAP media cells.

4. BJP is the new Congress. Earlier Congress used to rule media/narratives. Problem is top media brass and their owners are pretty dishonest people and constitutionally centre of India is very powerful. A full majority govt is by default extremely powerful. Many young people think that BJP is doing new things. Nope.

i). Overturning of SC Decisions to favour Govt - Yes. Congress Did that.
ii). Jailing of opposition leaders. Misuse of CBI/ED. Yes. Congress did that. Even the SC during UPA govt called CBI as "Caged Parrot".
iii). Police action on JNU protesters - Yes. Congress did that too. 
iv). AFSPA, Army use and disregard of Human rights in J&amp;K and North East - Yup. Congress did that too. (Although some was necessary regarding the situation back in time).
v). Check out tweets of current Godi media anchors and their network editorials before 2014. You will be shell shocked. They were pro-government back then too. They will be pro government in future too.
Same as other side - those who are anti-govt journalists will be anti govt in future too. Ravish Kumar used to bash Manmohan Singh, now he is bashing Modi. It was same, it will be same. 

** What is new then ? The INTERNET. Whatever Congress used to do, BJP does that more swiftly and effectively due to the its reach. Hate mongering and negative news gets you clicks/retweets and it travels faster. So, everyone is now doing this.

The echo chambers got bigger and easier due to Internet. Every sub reddit, including this one, is an echo chamber because one can easily ban/block opposing opinions. It is not BJP's doing, but public is responsible. If it was on person, you will have to listen, but on internet you can ban. Hate spreading in internet is easier because your name is not showing. You have multiple IDs. 

5. "Islam as terrorism" is pretty new phenomenon. It started in 90s and peaked after 9/11. Terrorists chanting "Allah-hu-Akbar" before exploding was really really damaging to Islam in front of non-Islamic eyes, be it US, Europe or India. BJP exploited it really well. But BJP is not responsible for the damage done by terrorists. 

In short, BJP has exploited or pretty effectively used already present fault lines in the society and new technology/social media. They have not done any new thing. Any other party with such majority will be this much authoritarian as the constitution allows it. Centre in India is not like federal govt of the USA. It is much more powerful. 

A major help to BJP was - absence of other right wing parties. So, BJP votes do not get divided. Even Shivsena is gone. This consolidation of whole centre right, far right voters to a single party is the biggest achievement of RSS. But whole opposition is fighting among themselves to get centre-left and left votes. In any country, there will always be left thinking people and right thinking ones too. It was Congress' fault to give whole centre-right and right voters to the BJP. How come BJP became the champion of Indian Culture and Nationalism when Congress fought for the Independence ? Because Congress left Nationalist ideas completely after Indira Gandhi. How come BJP, an off-shoot of socialist organisation RSS became pro-market, when it was Congress that liberalised economy ? Same. Congress fault. After Sonia Gandhi took charge in 1998, she is only curtailing Congress' overreaching umbrella ideology and made it a pro-left academia party, which it never was. She dismantled young ground leaders to help Rahul. Now, Rahul's core team is mostly writers/academia and random leaders, who cannot win any election by themselves. Congress Seva Sadan was bigger than RSS at some point. Where is it now ? Same with student politics - ABVP has much larger reach.

But don't lose hope. Rise of nationalistic pro-Hindu BJP was a reaction to authoritarian Congress going pro-left and doing minority appeasement. It took 20-30 years for BJP to consolidate anti-Congress votes, after a hugely unsuccessful and corrupt UPA 2 govt. Same is happening now - due to authoritarian BJP, centre and left parties are trying to consolidate. They tried somewhat in 2019...failed. In 2024, INDIA alliance is better than 2019 try, but will fail. In 10-15 years, either a big Congress revival or a new party will get the centre. For that many local competing parties have to die. They will as they are all nepotististic, and once their major leader dies, the son/daughter will not become as popular. Eventually India will get a usa type 2 ideological party system.

BJP has a stronghold because they connect with the people. Whether it's because of the development agenda, or formerly the anti-corruption agenda, or hindutva agenda - they have found ways to connect with the masses. 

How does an average Jagdish connect with Rahul Gandhi? We don't even want nepotism in Bollywood - forget about nepotism for the top job. 

I'm as liberal as they come and even I feel icky thinking about voting for Congress. One big reason for this is that my region and my city was completely ignored under congress administration. Projects would start but they would never finish. We never had 24/7 electricity - my childhood was spent in darkness, spending the hot summer months without a fan running. Yes I'm privileged to say that I could have the fan running 24/7 but seriously man that's not that big of a thing to expect if you're paying your taxes. 

Ever since BJP has come into power, the following things have changed for my hometown:

1) Infra projects are getting commisioned and more importantly they are getting completed. Our travel time to Delhi has gone from taking 5 hours on average to 1.5 hours/2 hours on average. Its a massive QOL improvement. 

2) 24/7 electricity - I cannot fucking explain the pain of knowing that we'll only have electricity from 9am till 12pm followed by a powercut till 3pm then another power cut from 8pm till fuck know when. Everyday. Planned power cuts. During the hot summer months we sometimes had 16 hour daily power cuts. Meanwhile Mumbai has had 24/7 electricity since the 90s - Why the step child treatment for my city? 

3) Safety and rioting - I witnessed 4 riots before I turned 15. Ever since BJP came into power in my area, there have been zero riots. 

I literally took part in the anti-CAA/NRC protests and if shit like that happens again, I will protest again. But I cannot deny that my city has gone through a wave of development under BJP. Under Congress we were just nothing.

They knew that other than the whole Hindutva nonsense, they didn’t have anything to sustain them. So they proceeded to dismantle any or all institutions that could hold them accountable, and make sure existing laws were either watered down (RTI, Jan Lokpal) and new laws gave them carte blanche to abuse their authority (Electoral Bonds, amended PMLA etc.).

This, coupled with the bottomless funding received from corporates (Adani, Ambani etc.) means they have pretty much an infinite money glitch that they can exploit to buy influence - standing army of ₹2 IT cell warriors, sympathetic media houses, and strategic deployment of cash for various versions of Operation Kamal.

Lastly, and this is a very understated point about them, the BJP has an almost mythical organisational discipline. You have an army of unpaid ‘karyakartas’ and ‘panna pramukhs’ that come out on election day and ensure the traditional BJP electorate gets out and votes. Congress can only dream of having something comparable.

Very well put. On top of all this, rapists and sex offenders within the party are celebrated. Manipur is burning since a year and it's ignored as if that state doesn't exist. Other politicians whom Modi himself accuses of corruption are welcomed to join the party with open arms. Important legislative laws are being approved in the parliament without any discussion or debate.

Yes, before the 2014 government used to tell the majority of the population to control themselves and not to anger minority communities by stopping religious processions or deciding their routes such that there won't be any clashes to maintain the peace. 

I think before 2014 many people from small towns or villages wouldn't have worked under or along with a muslim due to political alignment or religious beliefs. But after the 2014 and digital revolution, people can have their political views and still have friendship with Mujahid or coworkers like Imtiyaz. As everyone now understands Indian divisive politics but still it's our personal preference to align with a particular party. Also, we have been conditioned like this since childhood.

People were god-fearing before 2014 as well. But, Indians were not hating other Indians nor were Indians being fed biased/fake news daily.

In 2002, BJP won Gujarat using Hindu khatre mein hai &amp; again in 2007.

This, media was used to convince large section of people that Hindus need saving &amp; Modi could do it. Additionally, they are fed claims that Biden, Putin etc are calling Modi for advice.

So, unlike 2014, today Modi/BJP can use 'Hindu khatre mein hai' across most of North India where majority of seats are (just as they could use it in Gujarat in 2002).

Meanwhile, Hindus in Gujarat are among least developed in India, as seen from multi-dimensional poverty. Also, people forget that, Congress delivered reservation for large group of oppressed Hindus so that they could have better lives. &amp; That most attacks on Hindus in India are by other Hindus

The way you say about biased media I think even the major news channels or media houses prior to 2014 era was highly biased and was later known to be ruling party centric. It’s an open secret that NDTV a major news organization then was involved in major malpractices and most of their senior editors have left the ship after their own external sponsors have sort of disowned them.

Even education sector was and mostly still indoctrinates colonial or highly secularised accounts of our history. Lateral viewing of our history and economics is not really put forth. So many cultural/scientific/spiritual contributions to the major parts of the world is either downplayed or ignored and the parallel freedom struggle which was mainly armed freedom struggle is reduced to a trivial struggle. We all should know its actual impact and accounts of the British PM during the independence handover to the south Asian countries. 

About being God fearing, our nation or many third world nations are God fearing. Unlike many of the Northern European or wealthy but still relatively socialist countries or even capitalist countries for that matter. This has always been the case. There used to be really brutal riots with hundreds getting killed on either sides when the govt were not Right in different parts of the country. How would you justify that. Perceived injustices and inward hatred was always there but with an advent of over exposed media and social media platforms you’re suddenly exposed to how most of the extreme spectrum folks I think. 

The media channels then was mostly about normalising the govt laws and affairs while only one side of the story dominated the narrative. And if you want to stick to the story or abuses of the one side it might be something which might happen on both sides of the spectrum. 

I used to follow a lot of YouTubers who were either indirectly affiliated to upcoming leftist parties. What will you call them. They keep on being biased and you’ve no opinion about them. Who’s behind them.l?? Their fans are equally ruthless and vicious.

Man, people in this group do live in some kind of echo chamber. The hatred for Muslims was always there pre 2014,  it wasn't expressed or exposed much since there wasn't a major figure echoing such views or indirect actions publicly. I clearly remember why my friends voted for modi in 2014, it was the whole, "Muslims are arrogant and unruly, they need to be kept in check" theme. Mainstream media like NDTV was also left leaning on some occasions, all it took was a couple of memes or screenshots showing how NDTV wasn't naming the culprits when they were Muslims, and then BJP IT cell did the rest, circulating news articles from genuine sources where a "muslim" has done some murder, rape, honour killing etc. It's not that difficult, Muslims do contribute on par with Hindus, given the staggering population difference. To add to the wound, they keep repeating old news articles as well, even instances where Muslims did something barbaric across the world. Think about all the million wassap groups where such articles are shared. It's similar to how I got brainwashed into the "brahminical patriarchy" thing by feeding my news with only all dalit atrocities, relevant or irrelevant.  So, in short, this was  inevitable.

Growing up I never saw a difference.  But the Azhars and the Antonys did.... I was given a Muslim and a Christian nickname, "lovingly". Prayers used to be held in churches and they'd invite me in the name of Jesus but they'd never come if I did the same at a temple. The Jains and Buddhists never wanted to convert me though....neither did Parsis or Jews. The reality is that what is perceived as a majority problem is actually the problem of two specific minorities and that is because they (at least some sects) view dharmic religions with contempt. The communalization was always there and even Hindus knew it but there wasnt a strong counter current before 2014. The problem now is that India is going the other way of hindu imposition and extremism....so checks and balances are needed.

Most people care about the developments they brought to the people. I am not talking about huge projects like made in India or anything like that I am talking about things that improved the QOL of poor and middle class in India. Imma be honest. The main reason why BJP is getting votes apart from 'hindutva' is the legitimate work they're doing at the ground level. While y'all argue about the constitution, intolerance, etc, BJP is giving people electricity, roads, metros and toilets. There are people I know personally who've received housing from govt schemes. Infrastructure is something that is visible z and which benefits people directly. There's also the fact that bjp leaders like NaMo, Amit Shah, Gadkari, etc have risen to the top from the post of a regular karyakarta. Gives the impression that BJP supports talent and hardwork.

And as long as you choose to ignore the work done by BJP in favor of hyperbolic doom posting, you're always going to be on the 'losing' side. Because people are going to read it and call you a dumbass because there are millions benefiting from the work they're doing.

It is aperently over acording to trump on truth social, if true then this is good news,This whole battle was just bullshit, alot of bullshit from both sides, here is the loses I could find acording to both sides, pakistan shooting down 3 to 5 indian fighter jets (3 confirmed by french officials, 5 claimed by pakistani government), the targeting of around 28 indian bases (india reports minimal or zero damage among the bases, pakistan reported heavy damage in most of the bases,) the downing of dozens of drones by both sides, the targeting of 11 pakistani bases (pakistan reported the loss of a cargo plane and the destruction of 2 runways, india claimed it had completely destroyed 3 of the bases and heavily damaging the rest) and the the capture of 2 indian soldiers who crossed the border, I think pakistan is the winner here but we still dont have enough info from neutral sourced regarding how bad the damage is in both sides military bases, so no clear winner is here

**7th May, 2025:**  
The Indian Armed Forces launched **‘OPERATION SINDOOR’**, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where attacks against India were being planned and directed. This was in response to the **22nd April Pahalgam terror attack**.  


**8th May, 2025:**  
The **Pakistan Armed Forces** retaliated by attacking Indian military installations in northern and western India (Amritsar, Ludhiana, Srinagar, Bhuj), which were **neutralized by the Indian Integrated Air Defense System**. The Indian Armed Forces responded by striking Pakistan’s air defense infrastructure in Lahore, damaging an HQ-9 system.  
Pakistan also violated the ceasefire along the LoC, causing civilian casualties. The Indian Army retaliated in a proportionate manner.  


**9th May, 2025:**  
On the night of 8th May, Pakistani forces **launched coordinated drone attacks** along the western border. These were **neutralized by Indian Armed Forces using both kinetic and non-kinetic means**. Pakistan reportedly used **civil airliners as cover** during the attacks and also attempted to hit religious and civilian sites.  
The Indian Armed Forces retaliated by **striking four airbases of the Pakistan Air Force**.  


**10th May, 2025:**  
Pakistan attacked again along the western border, **targeting more than 26 sites**. Udhampur, Pathankot, Bhuj, and Adampur airbases sustained limited damage to personnel and equipment.

The Indian Armed Forces retaliated by targeting **Pakistani airbases at Rafiqui, Murid, Nur Khan (Chaklala), Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Chunian**.  
India also **refuted claims** regarding the destruction of its S-400 systems, Brahmos storage facilities, and airbases. Ceasefire violations along the LoC continued, to which the Indian Army responded appropriately.
